Love the posters they used for the frame cluster! (& the striped rug.)

Shenanigans! #selfie #gpoy

This looks like the perfect spring-summer dress!

STRIPED CROSSOVER DRESS - ZARA, $59.90

I like themed sales. I also like stripes. And dots. It’s a really good day for me.

(via Candystore Collective - dots stripes sale - 40% off!)

I saw an editorial in some Big Magazine years and years ago… I remember it like it was yesterday! The girl was wearing a red, jersey, column skirt that hit her about 3 inches below the knees, and underneath, she wore opaque grey tights. Love at first sight, truly. In the years since, I’ve collected (& discarded) a lot of “almost" skirts, and a modicum of red and grey tights… I hunted for the perfect red skirt, or even the perfect grey skirt, for what seemed like forever. Then, as obsessions tend to do, my vision expanded to midi column skirts of any kind.

L-R: Jack by BB Dakota Nikki Skirt, $45.99; Allen Allen Skirt, $26.99; Bobeau Striped Midi Skirt, $33.90.

They’ll work with anything! I can so easily see it, and I so badly need one… two… six, whatever. Not only have they been in my dreams on and off for the last few weeks, but I’ve also been seeing them around more. Especially striped midi skirts, but mostly just midi skirts.

Pajama Clothing holds such a unique beauty. The length is super formal, but the stripes negate any kind of non-casual ideas about this skirt… No one will accuse you of being overdressed again! …or underdressed! What could be more perfect?

Spotted this dress at Shabby Apple the other day and had to bookmark it! I love simple designs, and that’s what Shabby Apple does best! Super basic, well-made, affordable dresses that will last years - I have two, myself!

I can’t help but connect these stripes to the beach, thanks to Sweeney Todd and the most adorable scene in the entire movie:

See? See?!  Striped clothes are a beach thing. Stripes are an everywhere everything stripes are the best. Period.

If there was a movie called The Rugby Skater and it had this dress on the movie poster, you would go see it, wouldn’t you? I think I would. Only for the dress, though, probably.

I’m definitely a fan of the “skater dress” shape. I’m a high-waisted chick, so anything that highlights (aka proves I have a) natural waist gets my vote of confidence. Besides, I’m addicted to stripes (we all know this), especially rugby stripes and this dress comes in two different, deliciously stripey versions. The cap sleeves on this dress are likely going to be what breaks me down and gets me to stuff my debit card into my CD slot just to prove my devotion to this wondrous, striped beast of bright orange and beige perfection.

Personal style is always evolving, and this spring, mine has been influenced by sailor style.  Stipes, gold buttons, navy and cream, rope detailing - it’s all on my wish list.  I am turned off by trends taken too literally, though, so this preppy obsession  has to somehow fuse with a surprising cut, a modern style…yachty with a twist Know what I mean?

These Ann Marino Jackel striped wedges are the perfect example: they have the yachty stripes and rope-wrapped wedge, but a twenties-style t-strap and open toe add a soft, feminine quality.  I want to wear these wedges to work, then slip on my other striped shoes - anchor-tattooed rope-wrapped flats, yes please - for my walk to the bus stop.

I never thought I’d be a “lifer” in any aesthetic preference… but I think I am a lifer when it comes to stripes. (*A lifer is someone who sticks to a specific thing forever.) I can’t envision a world wherein I do not own at least 10 pieces of striped clothing. Vertical stripes are most coveted these days, but that doesn’t stop me from amassing a collection of comfortable, familiar stripes to pad my wardrobe. I love stripes most because they’re a bold, graphic pattern that can be used easily as a neutral! How clever, right?

Monday Not a Wedgie: Rocket Dog Clover

From Lindsay’s lips:

”They’re kind of espadrilles, they’re kind of huaraches, they’re kind of nerdy slip-on hipster shoes…”

But they’re soooo cute on.

We found Rocket Dog’s Clover flats on sale at Marshall’s $19.99, but they’re also available at Delia’s for $25.99.  We both tried the bottom pair, which is sailor-inspired with blue and white stripes and a pink anchor and it’s taking all of my efforts to not return to Marshall’s immediately and snatch them up before my size is gone…but if I can use online coupon codes to get these yachty flats for cheap, you bet your ass that’s just what I’ll do.

To get 20% off these sailor-inspired espadrilles (and anything else at Delia’s), use code 2RMNDE.

To get $20 off a purchase of $75 or more at Delia’s, use code 75RMNDE.

That makes my brand new shoes just as cheap at Delia’s as they are at Marshall’s.  Score.

(Both of these codes expire June 14, 2012, so if you’re going to buy, jump on it!)
