Continuing the Green Period of my life, I have now added a desirable pair of green, strappy wedges…

My two ShoeDazzle obsessions of the day… Black & brown wedge sneakers, and the most perfect, natural-materials-y wedge sandals I’ve maybe ever seen. Plus, I’d be like 5’11” in those puppies. Hell yeah!

Monday Wedgie: The Tall & Floral Rosalee

Remember that one time when I was obsessed with floral wedges?

Well, it’s been triggered again –…

DIY Furry sandals.

….but why?

Are today’s Monday Wedgie sandals:

a) $150
b) $100
c) Less than $70?

To those of you who question the type of person who would actually wear neon - I will have you know that I am wearing neon. Yes, right now. This very moment. It’s growing on me, what can I say? I’m wearing it with ripped things and dark things because I’m a little insecure with how… luminescent I am, but I am happy when I look down and see that the top half of my body is a flowing chiffon highlighter.

I don’t think I would do multiple neon colors at one time, though. In fact, the idea that I’m wearing an entire piece of clothing in a neon color is part of what makes me a little tiny bit uneasy. I like starting small with stuff, and this was a big step. I’m stuck here now, and I accept that. You still have time, though.

I also want to take this opportunity to urge you to try neon! Seriously! It won’t kill you, I promise. Just start off with something small like super-cheap sandals or a scarf or something. Wait, not a scarf. That would look awful. Well, actually… do it anyway, maybe it’ll be great. I think everyone should “try” trends as they come out - at least once! - for anthropological reasons, but that’s just me.

[From left to right: Yellow Ankle Wrap Sandals, $7.50; Dolce T-Strap Sandals, $9.50; Drahomira Sandals, $10; Braided T-Strap Sandals, $14.50; Braided T-Strap Sandal, $13.80.]

We were due for a good, loud, colorful wedge that isn’t necessarily reasonable or logical, but is incredibly budget-friendly.

These couldn’t be more appealing to me.  We’ve been on a yellow binge, and combine that with an espadrille with an ankle strap and you pretty much have me in my weakest spot.  All of the leather is faux, so these are effectively cruelty-free - except for the part where I’m not wearing them.  That’s the cruelest part of all.

I can’t help it  - I’m dying for spring and summer to get here. I never thought I would crave it this badly, and yet, here I am starving for it. It wasn’t until the last quarter of summer that I really started to get excited for winter, so I guess we’re on track. I stumbled across these OTBT sandals while browsing Goldyn, a lovely Denver-based boutique who offered B&B readers 20% off anything - including sale - with the code BROKEANDBEAUT20. (& Goldyn offers free shipping 24/7!) The code is good until the end of February 2012 - use it!

I know these bring to mind the flatforms of yesteryear (do I seem more fashion-y when I exaggerate the amount of time that has passed?), which should make sense because they’re practically identical. This gentle heel and saltwater-sandal-esque straps are nothing short of a classic, timeless staple - perfect for transitioning to the warmer seasons!

20% off anything - including sale - with the code BROKEANDBEAUT20.

OTBT Bee Cave Sandals in Taupe Grey - Reg. $125, Price: $100 on ShopGoldyn.com!
